Kiltale 2-19 Trim 1-21
Although there was nothing at stake apart from local pride, Kiltale and Trim played out a very entertaining match in Boardsmill on Sunday.
A thrilling finish saw Kiltale score 1-03 to Trim’s 1 goal all after the 59th minute to turn a two point deficit into a one point win. The key score came when Jack Regan played a short free to the on-running James Kelly who smashed home the sliotar into the corner of the Trim net. Regan (2) and Kelly then hit further points in injury time before Trim produced their only goal of the match with the last puck of the ball.
Mark O’Sullivan, moved from centre back to the forward line, had hit Kiltale’s first goal 10 minutes into the second half.
Trim had lead the encounter for 59 minutes, but Kiltale were always on their coat-tails and never much more than one score away.
Kiltale progress to the semi-final in 4 weeks time with a 100% record where they will play the winners of the Ratoath or Killyon.
Trim will play the winners of the Kildalkey and Kilmessan.
