The finals countdown!

It’s all about county finals this weather. First things first: good luck to the Junior Hurling team and mentors who play Boardsmill in the county final this Sunday; throw-in in Trim is at 3pm.

The Kiltale Camogie team will also feature in final action this week: they play Ratoath in the intermediate county final. Throw-in in Dunboyne is at 12pm (the senior camogie final is at 2pm).

Finally, the big one: after five years away, Kiltale are back in the senior county final. The big game against Killyon is on October 21st in Pairc Tailteann.

Big congratulations to all involved with all three sides. So – get behind your team! Tops, flags and car-flags can be purchased in the clubhouse.

Fundraising

Sending teams to county finals costs money – so we’re holding a couple of fundraisers in the next few weeks.

This Friday, October 5, we’ll hold a table quiz in the clubhouse. €40 for a table of four.

In two weeks, October 19, we’ll hold a Trojan Horse Race Night. Anyone interested can purchase a spot as a jockey, horse or trainer from any committee member or from the clubhouse.

All funds from both events will go towards assisting the club with the teams for the senior and county junior finals – so any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

Bingo resumes this Tuesday 2nd October at 8:30pm in the clubhouse.

Lord Mayor Competition

Kiltale Hurling Club launched its Lord Mayor Competition on Friday night. The competitors are Noel Regan, Mary McGann and Ronan Ryan. The three entrants will be planning different events to fundraise in the coming months. Notification of different events will be posted here on the website, on our Facebook and in the clubhouse. The Lord Mayor will be crowned during Christmas.  Good luck to the three competitors, for whom all support will be welcome.

Theatrics

Stephen O’Rourke & GAA Social Initiative are back with another one of Stephen’s plays: ‘For Club and County‘:

Arthur Polanski is the spit of Ritchie Brown, Tanaree’s dual football and hurling star. And just because Arthur Polanski played in goals for Poland and now Ritchie Brown is injured and Tanaree’s are in a final, all Tanaree need to do is turn Arthur into Richie.

Come and see the true story of how this final will unfold on Friday December 7 in Summerhill Community Centre at 8:30pm. Admission on the door is €10.

Trip to Belfast

The Kiltale GAA Social Initiative group is planning a trip to Belfast in October/November. Itinerary as follows:

  • Friday – Bus to Belfast; check in Balmoral Hotel; tour Titanic Museum; evening meal; social evening with local GAA Club.
  • Saturday – Breakfast; City tour on original sightseeing tour bus; Aternoon recreational time; evening meal; social evening.
  • Sunday– Breakfast; Mass; return home.

Anyone interested please contact Paddy Kelly at (086) 8282458 or Dominic Reilly at (086) 2132288 for further details. Prices will depend on numbers interested so please let us know if you’re interested. We also hope to run a fundraiser to reduce the costs for those travelling.
