January 24, 2017

Mark O’Sullivan raises the Jubilee Cup as Kiltale complete a 3 in a row of Meath SHC titles.

Kiltale Hurling Club held its A.G.M on Sunday 22nd Jan 2017 in Kiltale Clubhouse

Chairman Dom Reilly and secretary Liz Phelan reflected on a very sucessfull year with the club completing a memorable 3 in row and winning the Div 1 HL on a very historic year with the commeration of 1916. The Chairman & Secretary thanked the parish for there continuing support to the club – They were called the 16th MAN.

Great credit was given to all our club players and mentors over the years to achieve the 3 in a row and all that has been achieved by the club at grass roots up to the adults age. The club managed to field 3 adult teams in senior/intermediate and junior grades.

The club had two players on the Christy Ring team and 9 members of the Meath U21 All Ireland winners with Jack Regan captaining the side.  6 players on starting 15 on the day of the U21 All Ireland B Hurling final a great achievement by all.

Kiltale Hurling Club – Lottery Grant

Due to a complication with Folio number at the lands at Kiltale GAA pitch.  The GAA and the State solicitor are working to resolve this issue and the Lottery funding is still secure while this process is completed.  Until then the works planned for the dressing rooms are on hold.

This was submitted to Meath GAA in September, and as part of the plan the club will engage in bringing outside coaches to the club on a weekend in January/February to mentor all the club’s team mentors. The plan is to give coaches new ideas. We would encourage some of our retired players and present players when this date is set to come and join in. The club want to assist all as much as possible.

Congratulations – 3 in a row!!

Congratulations to the Kiltale Senior Hurling panel and management on their victory on Sunday in the Senior final – and achieving, for the first time in the history of the club, a 3-in-a-row of Senior Hurling Championships. It is a great achievement and a serious commitment by all for this success. Thank you lads – Management and the backroom team.

Thank you, supporters

You were the 16th Man on Sunday and you have been behind the club all the time – and we are most grateful. The homecoming the lads received from the parish on Sunday evening was second to none. Sunday night and Monday night were two great nights and we hope for more. The club received a serious amount of best wishes and this also we wish to say thank you.

To all those that helped out during the week with the lads, decorating the dressing rooms – catering during the week and on the night of the final – and to Maurice, the clubhouse staff and the bar committee – you all made the homecoming work so well. Thank you all.

All those that have sponsor signs on the road, and in the match programme and Meath Chronicle, and for those that supplied the club cars and tractor: thank you.

The lads traveled on Monday morning with the cup, and without much complaining, to Kiltale, Moynalvey and Summerhill National Schools and again the welcome they received from the staff and students was great. To the staff in all schools thank you for accommodating the visit.

Kiltale Hurling Club Committee – thank you for your ongoing work it is appreciated.

There will be new briefs on this event in the coming days, so keep you eyes and ears open for the news! We would ask you to sponsor our dancers – they will be carrying sponsor cards in the coming weeks.
